In 2014 we opted to expand our client offering by establishing fabrication services. This initiative was fuelled by the recognition of a notable oversight in the attention to detail concerning reagent systems. This initiative began with the creation of small, robust skid-mounted units that underwent thorough pre-testing in Johannesburg before being shipped to the site. Since then, our modular plants have experienced substantial growth in both size and complexity. Our tier-1 clients have noted that ‘the key success factor of our projects was the ability to fully construct and commission the modular facility ‘offsite’ at ProProcess Fabrication prior to moving and constructing on site. This significantly reduced the required site construction time and gave the owner’s team confidence in the ability to operate the facility. This contributed immeasurably to our commitment towards safe and sustainable operation.’
The ProProcess Group leverages the convertible engineering, procurement, and services (EPS) contracting model, in conjunction with our proprietary project execution methodology (#TheProProcessWay), to deliver fully assembled, pretested modular process plants. In this way, our project teams work closely with our client.
We are honored that Pensana has placed its trust in us for the redesign and modularization of its Longonjo project. This partnership marks a significant milestone for us, and we look forward to delivering exceptional results together.
The mine at which the project is based aims to achieve a production target of up to 38,000 tonnes annually for refined Mixed Rare Earth product, encompassing 14,000 tonnes of TREO and up to 4,400 tonnes of NdPr oxide. This quantity roughly constitutes 5% of the worldwide yearly output of NdPr oxides, destined for downstream processing. The important strategic minerals project is supported by the Government of Angola, Fundo Soberano de Angola (FSDEA), Absa Group and others.
